About me

For ten years, I've been using my Orton-Gillingham training to help students with dyslexia and reading challenges. I create custom programs tailored to each student's needs, whether they're struggling with focus (ADHD), speech clarity, or math (which can relate to reading skills).

My Approach

Step-by-Step Plan: I study how students learn and track their progress to build a plan for each learner.

Tried and True Techniques: I use methods that are proven to work, giving students clear steps to improve their reading, writing, and overall study skills.

Learning That Sticks: The skills students learn will help in all their classes.

All About the Student: My plans focus on using a student's strengths as well as areas for growth. This helps build confidence!

Qualifications

Dyslexia Expert: I'm specially trained in the Orton-Gillingham approach, which breaks down reading and spelling in a way that makes learning much easier for people with dyslexia. It's also the best approach for most students who struggle with reading.

School Experience: I developed and delivered individualized teaching plans for hundreds of dyslexic students at the Carroll School for Dyslexia in the Boston area.

Educational Background: My training as a neuroscientist, combined with special-education work, provides a unique depth of understanding.

Very knowledgeable and excellent with kids.

Eric has been helping my son learn to read for the last two months, and while it is difficult for my son, he is making steady progress with Eric’s careful plan and monitoring. We look forward to our son’s continued growth.

Very knowledgeable and excellent with kids.

Eric has a wonderful attitude and manner. When I told him about my son, he felt that all the hurdles could be overcome no matter the issue or disability. He really enjoys figuring out where a kid is at and what they need to work on and then presenting it in a way that makes sense to the kid, so they can progress. He is really good with kids, and we have enjoyed our sessions. Our son is improving each week. We highly recommend Eric. He cares and knows enough about child development to suss out what it will take to get kids on track with their learning.
