I was accepted to multiple top medical schools with full-tuition scholarship offers and later matched into dermatology at a leading academic program. I have served as a Harvard writing tutor and alumni interviewer, participated in admissions at Columbia VP&S, and reviewed hundreds of applications, so I understand what distinguishes an accomplished applicant from a memorable one.
Exceptional applicants are often unsuccessful for preventable reasons: starting too late, pursuing low-impact opportunities, submitting generic essays, or lacking a cohesive narrative. By the time these weaknesses become obvious, it may be too late to correct them. I identify gaps early and help students build applications that give committees a clear reason to choose them.
