I am a graduate of Princeton, where I earned an A.B. in Linguistics and minored in Cognitive Science and Humanities & Sciences. I hold 6+ years of college admissions tutoring experience both in private practice and professional agency settings.
I’ve collaborated with admissions officers from schools including Stanford, Harvard, and MIT, providing insight into the internal application review process. My student placements include Harvard, Yale, Princeton, MIT, Columbia, UPenn, Brown, Cornell, Northwestern, Johns Hopkins (Hodson Trust Scholarship), Duke (Angier Buchanan Duke Scholarship), Carnegie Mellon, and all UC campuses. College Application Tutoring Approach: I provide support across developing application themes, school lists, activities lists, application essays, and interview prep.
Initial application screening is usually completed within 10 minutes, so clear narratives and engaging essays are essential to stand out from similarly-successful students.
My college admissions tutoring generally takes the following structure.
Meetings 1-2: Holistic, strategy-based review of interests, achievements, and goals. Begin building a college application narrative and school list. Develop an application timeline.
Meeting 3: Intensive Activity List work, developing detailed entries with clear credentials.
Meeting 4: Personal Statement work. Identify unique topics centered around the application theme, create an outline or draft, and plan the complete essay.
Meetings 5+: Develop supplemental essays and continue refining other application components. Ensure cohesiveness within the complete college application.
