Hi, I'm Grant! I'm a senior at the University of Virginia majoring in physics with additional coursework in biology and South Asian studies.

I have tutored students in physics and mathematics for 5 years, and I have been a teaching assistant as well as a recitation instructor in UVA's physics department for four semesters. I teach following an "active learning" approach. Rather than bombarding students with formulas and concepts to memorize, I encourage them to think through problems step by step and actively engage with the material. Throughout each lesson, I ask guiding questions that help students articulate their reasoning, identify misconceptions, and discover solutions for themselves. My goal is for students to leave each session not only with the correct answer, but with a clearer sense of why the answer makes sense and how they can approach similar problems on their own.
