Potential students,

I have been teaching in New Jersey for the past 8 years, and I've covered a broad set of topics and grade levels from Kindergarten though 12th grade. I've tutored students from pre-school age through college for the past 10 years or so now. I cater to the learning style of the students I'm working with and try to create fun and exciting ways to learn and practice what is covered in my lessons.

Every student is different and I do my best to find what works for them to not just survive but thrive through their education.

I hold two associates degrees from Bergen Community college, one in Business Administration and the second in World languages with a focus on American Sign Language and German. I hold a B.A. in History from Rutgers University - Newark and will be starting Graduate School in the spring with a focus on a Masters of Teaching/Education. I'm licensed to be a substitute teacher in the state of New Jersey. Additionally I am certified to teach English as a foreign/second language. My undergraduate education contained a variety of topics from STEM to Literature and more. I currently teach at two Jewish religion schools, lessons include Hebrew reading skills, bar and bat mitzvah tutoring, and Jewish identity, religion and culture.

Finally I want to say this publicly because I feel it's an important part of my educational philosophy. I do not expect my students to know everything, because I don't know everything and could never achieve such a task. I welcome questions and will admit when I don't know something but will always strive to do the research (and at times teach students how to do more independent research) to find the answers to any and all questions I'm asked. Learning is a life long adventure that should never end.

I have been teaching hebrew and judaics for 10+ years in a reform synagogue. I tutor Torah Trope, hebrew language skills, and general jewish education for students K-12. I have taught at a Jewish summer camp for the past 2 years. I am starting Rabbinical School in the fall.
Cooking

Cooking

I spent a majority of my 20's managing a small kitchen that primarily served outdoor festivals and events. I currently own my own catering business creating unique Jewish Fusion foods that can accommodate any dietary restriction/need. I specialized in a few styles of cuisine but my cooking skills are universal.
Elementary (K-6th)

Elementary (K-6th)

I have taught in multiple school districts general k-6 education. Spanning different municipalities means I have taught in a variety of styles for all of those subjects. As a substitute teacher I am able to teach different grade levels and subject matters everyday and must easily be able to adapt.
Religion

Religion

I teach at 2 synagogues religious schools and cover topics that include Hebrew reading skills, Bar and Bat Mizvah tutoring, and Jewish identity, religion and culture. I was raised in an interfaith household and have also previously taught in some Christain religious classes. I still hold that knowledge and experience.
Sign Language

Sign Language

I hold an associates in American Sign Language from Bergen Community College. In addition to holding a formal degree I am a hard of hearing adult and frequently use ASL as a method of communication while in the Deaf community. I have previously tutored ASL I and II students at my previous university.
Speech

Speech

I am certified to teach English as a second language and substitute teach all subjects in the state of New Jersey. As such teaching Speech is sometimes a required for the roles I teach in. Speech is an important part of learning English as a second language because at times there can be differences in the sounds made between languages.
