Our daughter has been working with Amy since the school year began, and we can't say enough good things about her. First of all, our daughter has earned A's on her report card for the first two quarters of the year. This has given her more confidence in her ability to understand and "keep up" with her class material. Amy does a great job of breaking problems down into small steps, is extremely patient and keeps the whole process positive. From my perspective, Amy is reliable, flexible with scheduling and a devoted teacher - you can tell she enjoys what she does! We are also going to have her work with our daughter to prepare for the SAT exams next year and it gives us peace of mind to know our daughter will be much more prepared after working with her, than she would be otherwise. Amy is the best tutor we have ever had the pleasure of working with.
Amy has been coming to our house for the past 6 weeks helping our son get ready for the SAT's. She has been instrumental in his learning and we are so happy that we chose her as his tutor. She is extremely knowledgeable, patient and fun. I would highly recommend her to anyone. She is great!
Amy responded right away to my initial request, and we set a date to start. On the day she was unable to come, and gave us only a couple hours notice. Two weeks passed before we heard from her again, and she wanted to come in an hour and a half which doesn't work with a family like ours. We instead set an appt for two days later. Amy didn't show up, didn't call, no word until I contacted her. The following week we booked 2 appointments and both went fine. On the third week, Amy failed to show up again and without notice. It is difficult in a busy family when arrangements are made that affect the whole gang and then someone doesn't hold up their end. I am sorry to leave this review because I think Amy is probably a good tutor, but I don't want other families to be inconvenienced like we were.
Amy did a wonderful job with helping my daughter understand the different ways and tools to help solve problems for her precalculus class. When Amy left my daughter couldn't stop smiling and looked like a large weight had been lifted from her shoulders. We will definitely be contacting Amy when we need help again!
Thank you Amy!
Amy has been so great this year. She is flexible, kind and a great and patient tutor. I highly recommend her to everyone!
Amy has tutored both my kids in various levels of Math (Algebra II, Pre-Calc, SAT Prep). She is absolutely the best tutor due to her knowledge and skills in explaining Math. My kids are at different levels and have different personalities, but Amy has been spot on in teaching them in a way that best meets their learning styles. HIGHEST recommendations for Amy!
Amy is patient and thorough. She has a great way of teaching my son in a way he can understand and maintain the math skills necessary to be successful.
Amy broke everything down so my son could understand the concepts. He went from failing to passing in just a few weeks.
My son was struggling with 9th grade Algebra 1. He started the first term with a solid B, which very rapidly declined into the low C category. He was staying after school for extra help from his teacher, but still not being able to pull decent quiz and test grades. I found out about WyzAnt and researched Amy. She picked up right away on the issues he's been struggling with. Her manner is very positive and encouraging and finally my son is feeling confident again. She tutored him two times before a test, and he was able to pull of a 93! He was thrilled and said "Mom, this is the first "A" I've every had on any test in this class". Needless to say his outlook on math has greatly improved, he now feels like he is able to grasp the subject matter, especially with Amy's tutoring. He felt like she really slowed the pace and made the information comprehensible for him. She's fantastic and has already made a significant difference, and it's only been two sessions! I couldn't be happier with the decision to contact her for support.
Amy is a wonderful math tutor! She currently teaches so she understands the requirements of today's high school student. She is so understanding and a delight to work with!
Amy has been great for my daughter to get her back on track with Algebra. Amy is patient and does a great job explaining the concepts and helping work through problems. As an added plus, Amy is also very flexible with scheduling.
I'm tempted to write a bad review to discourage others from competing for her time.
My daughter has had several lessons with Amy now. Each time, she is incredibly thorough, incredibly, patient, and has been able not only to work through her existing lessons, but also to enable her to move forward so that she is fully prepared for her coming classes. I would highly recommend her.
My 15 year old son was having difficulty in geometry. Amy has been working with him for approximately 3 months now and have seen a dramatic improvement in his grades and his attitude. Amy is very flexible, easy to work with but most importantly very positive and encouraging to Alex.
With her laid-back approach, she has helped him understand the geometry concepts that he previously struggled with. In addition to her geometry tutoring, Amy has also been able to reinforce the notion with my son that hard work today will pay off in the future.
Amy is professional, knowledgeable, and accommodating. She has an excellent rapport with her students and provides great direction and insight regarding particular topics to review or problems to work on.
Our daughter has been well prepared for class and assessments.
Over the last several months, as Amy has tutored our daughter, we have also seen significant improvement in her mathematics grades.
We would highly recommend Amy as a tutor.
Amy filled in last minute, quickly determined what was being worked on, and helped my daughter review for her final. She explained mistakes and problem areas and left my daughter feeling more prepared. My daughter did very well on her test!
My daughter said when Amy left "I feel smart again!" She also wished Amy could be her teacher at school. It went very well. I highly recommend her!
Amy has been tutoring my daughter in Geometry. Not only does my daughter now understand the work, she is much more confident in her abilities and proud of her accomplishments. Amy is reliable, personable, and a wonderful teacher!
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
