Both there and at my undergraduate institution (Connecticut College) I tutored music theory and ear training, in addition to taking on other various projects in music education, conducting, and arranging. Both there and at my undergraduate institution (Connecticut College) I tutored music theory and ear training, in addition to taking on other various projects in music education, conducting, and arranging. One aspect I love about music is how interdisciplinary it is. This excites some students and intimidates others, so as a tutor I enjoy getting to know my students, their strengths, musical backgrounds, and how they learn, in order to develop personalized ways to conceptualize and approach each topic.

Studying at a liberal arts college for my BA in Music, followed by graduate studies at a conservatory, gave me valuable experience in a broad array of musical topics, including theory/aural skills (tonal and post-tonal), history, musicology, education, conducting, basic orchestration, practice techniques, and a lot of performance in many genres (opera, musical theater, pop, choral, and contemporary classical).

Contact me for your musical needs! I would love to work with you.

Knowledgeable, enthusiastic, and supportive

Within just a few minutes, Stephanie taught me a simple technique to improve the pitch of my sight singing. She also pointed out the things I was doing well, which boosted my confidence. I really respect her knowledge and enthusiasm, and I think if you study with her, you'll have a positive experience, too.

Helpful exercises and strategies to improve sight reading/ear training. She taught me different types of scales to practice to become more comfortable with intervals etc.
