I'm a patient and supportive math/STEM tutor who enjoys helping students build confidence and truly understand the material they are learning. I had a full- ride STEM scholarship to Northeastern University. I have a Bachelor's of Science in Physics, am a Certified Electronics Technician and have over 5 years of tutoring STEM related subjects. I've worked with middle and high school students in subjects such as algebra, geometry, trigonometry, physics, and even have tutored college level calculus and statistics. I am willing to help any student in their STEM journey, to shore up their skills and move forward. I like to focus on problem solving skills and better thinking to build more proficient STEM ability in general, but this can also lend itself to greater performance in other subjects.
I have over 3 years tutoring geometry, algebra and trigonometry, to middle and high school students, one-on-one, in home or elsewhere, but I have also tutored groups of 3 or more in classroom settings from the 8th to 12th grades in all these ways. Everyone gets personalized tutoring to fit their needs. I take into account every student's status, giving them plenty of time for instruction and practice, focusing on moving forward. Every student will have a custom lesson plan and relevant exercises and training that fits their situation and learning strengths. The number one thing is progress for everyone and becoming better problem solvers. I understand that many students struggle with math because they feel rushed in class and sometimes the way it is taught doesn't sink in, but I focus on breaking problems down step-by-step in an approachable way that is easier to understand, and students can feel comfortable asking questions, and learning at their own pace.
I'm a big proponent of making it easy so students can consistently build their knowledge and tackle more and more complex problems. I try to work to facilitate them getting better over time. At the end of the day, I love teaching and love to help people succeed.
