My name is Traci and I love helping students to make connections to what they are learning and feel a sense of accomplishment and achievement. I have worked at the same middle school for the last 24 years and have held a variety of roles within the school. I majored in Spanish at the undergraduate level and went on to earn Master's degrees in Middle School Education and School Counseling. I continue to take graduate level courses to remain current with the latest research being conducted and changes in pedagogy. I am fluent in Spanish and have taught both English and Spanish to students in grades 6 through 8. I am known for my creative approaches to learning which engage students and make learning fun.

Over the course of my career I have taught Spanish, English and Reading to students in grades 6 to 8. I have also tutored students in all of the core academic subjects. I am certified as a teacher of English and Spanish, as a School Counselor and an Administrator. My tutoring experience has been one on one will students who are not able to attend school in person for a variety of reasons. In order to help the students who I am tutoring, I review all assignments to determine any skills, strategies or vocabulary that need to be pre-taught before the assignment is completed by the student. I also examine the assignment with a critical eye to see if there are questions or areas of the assignments that may lead to misconceptions on the part of the student. This allows me to offer guidance to the student in the most effective manner without having them practice a skill incorrectly. I am currently an Assistant Principal and spend a good portion of my day coaching teachers to structure their lessons and classrooms to meet the needs of a diverse population of learners.
