Experienced, patient Math Tutor - you can do math!

Hi,
Often a little extra help can be transformative in understanding a concept or a subject. My goal is to understand the specific blocks to your child's (or your) understanding and to find a way through or around those blocks.

For parents of school-aged children, I offer patient, dedicated tutoring in mathematics for your child, to supplement classroom teaching, providing help with homework and in understanding concepts. It's that little extra help that makes Math easy for the children who aren't there yet.
I can also help your child prepare for any standardized or placement exams. I am currently focused on elementary, middle school and junior high grades.

For others who might need help with mathematics in the context of standardized tests, and the like, I am happy to discuss your needs and how I might be able to help you.

I hold an MS in Computer Science as well as an MA in Child Development. I have completed teacher licensure exams for Middle School Mathematics (with a score of 97/100).
As a teacher, I worked as a special education aide in a middle school, assisting in an 8th grade class, co-taught a 6th grade math class, and taught concepts like long division to children with developmental disorders. I also set up and ran an afterschool math remediation program for about 50 elementary school children, and volunteered at a separate elementary afterschool program.

I am based in the Metro West area (Arlington), and have tutored several middle and junior high school students in and around town.
