Hi everyone! My name is Andara, I graduated from George Washington University in 2021 with a degree in international affairs and a minor in political science. I am currently taking off my last year before I intend to attend law school in fall of 2024, and spent the last year or so working as a teaching assistant in the Winchester Public Schools district in Massachusetts. I have also worked in the past with students in the ESL department as well as taught English abroad in Thailand for about six months during my junior year of college. I also worked one on one with students outside of their classroom in order to provide specialized attention.

While in high school I took both AP Modern European History and AP English Literature and received a 5 in both of the AP tests for those courses. Additionally, I scored a 36 in both the English and Reading sections of the ACT. I also took and excelled in an ample amount of history, political science and other humanities courses throughout my time in college, and thus have extended experience in developing and improving a student's research and writing skills whether they may need to use them on an in class essay in school, or in developing a long form research paper to be turned in at the end of the semester. Additionally, although it was not part of my degree I enjoy helping students analyze literature for their English classes and frequently worked with small reading groups during my time as a teaching assistant.

I am happy to help students this summer with working on AP coursework, studying for the ACT or just generally improving their research and writing abilities. I worked with small reading groups in a classroom setting for about a year out of college, helping kids develop a better understanding of the English language and mechanics. I also worked for a couple months in Thailand as a private tutor teaching students English as a second language. Additionally, I worked with ESL students in Massachusetts over the summer further developing the foundations of their English language abilities.

I completed a four year degree from George Washington University with a major in International Affairs and a minor in Political Science. While in college, I took classes in comparative politics as well as American political thought. Additionally, I have worked in the political sphere in the past and have first hand experience in that field.
Literature

Literature

I have worked with students discussing literature and working on group projects in a classroom environment for about a year. I also took college coursework to further my background in the humanities in general through my electives because of my interest and appreciation for literature. I also took AP Literature in high school and received a 5 on the AP test.
World History

World History

I took a multitude of world history classes in college for my degree. Although my concentration was focused on Asian foreign relations, I am well rounded in other regions as well. I also studied abroad and took classes in Taiwan, so I am particularly well versed in that area.

I completed a four year degree in international affairs from George Washington University, and as part of my degree I had to complete at least three writing intensive courses which comprised at least three research papers for each of those courses. I also wrote for the university newspaper while in college, and completed a range of various writing assignments as part of a plethora of internships. Additionally, I have experience helping students in the classroom develop their own papers starting from the research stage all the way up to their final draft and presentation.

Amazing tutor

Andara regularly tutors my son to help him prepare his essays and test for his International Relations course during his first year of University. She is knowledgeable, clear, patient and accommodating in time. My son really appreciated working with her. She is an excellent good tutor.
