My major experience teaching has been recently working with private clarinet students and middle schoolers during my practicum at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. I have worked privately with students over the past five years and I have played the clarinet for over forty years. I also have experience as a cycling instructor at the Hampshire Athletic Club in Amherst for ten years. I love working with students and trying to help them achieve success. I am an enthusiastic, dedicated, hard-working, motivating tutor who caters the lessons to each individual student. I work with students in a comfortable and safe manner that encourages them to do their best. I am extremely organized and plan my lessons carefully each week that focuses on the specific areas that need extra attention.
I have forty years experience as a clarinetist. I will complete my music education degree from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst in May, 2017 and I will be licensed to teach grades K-12. I have excelled in all areas of music history, music theory, music production and general music. I am able to provide several references from the UMASS faculty. I have lots of experience working with young children and I have a dedicated, enthusiastic and engaging personality.
I am a friendly person who loves kids! I have one of my own and I have taught him how to play the clarinet and piano. I even taught him how to swim. I make the lessons motivating and fun and I am a very positive person who believes that all children can achieve success if they try hard enough. By the way, I love all animals and enjoy meeting the pets of my current students. Sometimes, they even join in the lesson!
