Hello all! My name is Kaela but students usually call me Ms. Kae. I’ve been teaching for five years and love the job. I’ve worked with students as young as 3 all the way up to high school. I teach fifth grade special education currently and love elementary curriculum. I also have extensive experience with teaching students with special needs and can accommodate any specific needs

I hold a masters degree in severe special education and will be pursuing a doctorate degree in the Fall in educational leadership. I believe the foundation of teaching is having a positive relationship with students. That is what I strive to create in 100% of opportunities.

I teach fifth grade and LOVE it. During a time when so many educators are leaving the field, I feel lucky to still love my job. The responsibility of shaping minds and if thinking bigger picture, our future as a society is not something I take lightly.

I have been trained to use Fountas and Pinnell Guided Reading for a curriculum. I have experience teaching decoding and word attack skills, vocabulary acquisition and boosting morale for students struggling with reading.

I have five years of experience working with students with disabilities. I have had extensive training with Applied Behavior Analysis, Positive Reinforcement among other classroom management techniques. I can read, understand and follow student IEP objectives. I build strong relationships with families.
