My specialty is in individual tutoring, dedicating myself to helping students understand their subjects by adding to their strategy base and building confidence in their work and in themselves. I use many sample problems and apply math concepts to real-world situations. I utilize techniques to assist students in retaining their math facts and employ games and other hands-on materials to solidify their learning and of course, make it fun!

I have a BSEE and MSEE and have spent many years applying math to real life research problems. When a student says "When will I ever use this?" I can tell them.

Excellent Algebra II tutor

First semester Algebra II for my daughter and and first time home schooling for me....so I was clueless. Fortunately, we found Devorah. She is patient and explains concepts very well in a way my daughter can understand. She's been incredibly accommodating with scheduling lesson times. We couldn't be more pleased.

Helpful in Math and Science sections of the ACT

Devorah has helped considerably with the math and science sections of the ACT. She is patient and clear, and always provides thoughtful summaries of each meeting that help us know were our son is making progress and where more work needs to be done.

Amazing

Devorah was very insightful, she picked up right away on the lack of fundamental knowledge and had a plan together with in 10 min of the first session.. my student who went to her (I sat in on the session) was amazed at how easy the knowledge was and she said it's much harder to understand in high school.. we will be returning to Devorah throughout the year ! Well worth over the 50 dollar charge!

Doing great work with my daughter

I have been thoroughly impressed with Dev's work with my daughter who is 14 and preparing for the SSAT. Annabel really seems to connect with her, which is great. Dev clearly knows her stuff! Could not be happier with her tutoring services.

Wonderful Tutor

Dev is a very focused and professional tutor and immediately established a teacher-student atmosphere, setting the stage for learning right from the start. She gets right to work and will continue the lesson longer than the allotted time if she feels my daughter is not comfortable with the material. She is familiar with the math program in the school and relates the session to the current school material. My daughter's grasp of math concepts and confidence in her skills have grown because of her lessons. We are grateful for assistance.
