Hey, I’m Greg! As a neuroscience and immunology researcher, I specialize in tutoring students in the biomedical sciences, writing, and math.

My PhD is from Boston University, where I studied a variety of life science topics, notably cellular and systems neuroscience, pharmacology, quantitative methods for data analysis, and persuasive and scientific writing. Apart from my academic career, I have worked as a biomedical scientist at Yale University and as a postdoctoral fellow at Sanofi, helping develop drugs for neurological and immunological diseases.

I enjoy teaching immensely and have continued to do so throughout my career. While studying at Boston University I taught graduate-level courses, including systems neuroscience, cellular physiology, and various writing seminars. I also prepared lectures and interactive science labs for high school students preparing for medical and graduate school, as part of Boston University’s Academic Immersion (AIM) program. Over the years, I have tutored a variety of science, math, and writing topics, working with students from high school to adulthood.

So whether you are a pre-med student tackling the MCAT or a student seeking to master core concepts in persuasive writing, I bring a wealth of practical, real-world expertise to our sessions. Please contact me if you think I can be of help. I will respond quickly and love to hear feedback.

Essay Writing

Essay Writing

Over the last decade, I have written and published articles in a variety of scientific journals. While pursuing my PhD at Boston University, I wrote hundreds of pages, in the form of grant proposals, research articles, and a dissertation. I also tutored fellow graduate students, who were excellent scientists, but struggled to communicate their ideas on paper. Writing is challenging. Knowing whether something is well-written can be even harder. Learning the guidelines will keep you on the right track and ensure you continue to improve, no matter how technical the subject. Whether your needs are structural or grammatical, I am happy to help you reach your goals.
Neuroscience

Neuroscience

With a PhD in Neuroscience, I spent the last decade researching and teaching a broad variety of neuroscience topics, both at the cellular and systems-level. At Boston University I taught graduate-level systems neurobiology courses, while studying neural circuits and networks for my dissertation. At Yale University and within the pharmaceutical industry, I worked with world-class neuroscientists to better understand the pathologies of neurological diseases. My teaching style involves active listening to understand where specific difficulties lie, to most efficiently overcome hurdles. Context matters and with it you will be able to understand even the most complicated material.
