My studies gave me a strong foundation in tools such as Ableton Live, Logic Pro, Pro Tools, and Max/MSP, as well as a deep understanding of synthesis, mixing, and audio for media. In addition to my technical training, I have over ten years of experience as a classical and Flamenco guitarist, with a strong background in performance, technique, and musical interpretation.

I have worked with students of various ages and backgrounds in both one-on-one lessons and small group settings. My teaching experience includes private guitar instruction, music theory tutoring, and guiding students through music production projects from concept to completion. I tailor my teaching methods to fit each student’s learning style and goals, blending technical exercises with creative projects. Whether teaching remotely or in person, I aim to build confidence and practical skills through focused practice and real-world application.

To ensure smooth scheduling, I require at least 24 hours' notice for cancellations or rescheduling. I am passionate about helping students develop their skills as musicians and producers. If you are interested in learning guitar, music production, or sound design, please feel free to contact me to schedule lessons. I look forward to helping you achieve your musical goals.

Ear Training

Ear Training

I hold a Bachelor's degree in Electronic Production and Design from Berklee College of Music, where ear training and music theory were core parts of my studies. I have extensive experience teaching ear training techniques, including interval recognition, chord identification, and rhythmic dictation. I tailor lessons to help students develop their listening skills, improving their overall musicianship and performance confidence. My approach is patient and adaptive to all skill levels, from beginners to advanced musicians.
Guitar

Guitar

As a graduate with a Bachelor of Music from Berklee College of Music, I completed all four levels of principal instrument proficiency in guitar, a comprehensive curriculum that develops advanced technical skills, musicality, and performance readiness. I had the privilege of refining my classical guitar technique under the mentorship of Grammy Award winner Berta Rojas. In addition to my formal education, I have professional experience performing in both solo and ensemble settings. My teaching focuses on tone production, technique, interpretation, and sight reading. I tailor each lesson to the student’s goals—whether preparing for conservatory-level auditions or learning for personal enjoyment—while encouraging both discipline and artistic expression.
Music Production

Music Production

I hold a Bachelor's degree in Electronic Production and Design from Berklee College of Music, where I focused on sound design, synthesis, and mixing techniques using industry-standard tools like Ableton Live, Logic Pro, and Pro Tools. I have hands-on experience producing and mixing tracks across various genres, including cinematic, electronic, and acoustic styles. My work includes audio for games, short films, and independent music releases, where clarity, balance, and creative sound shaping were essential. I approach every project with a strong technical foundation and a creative mindset to help bring each artist’s vision to life.

Sight Singing

Sight Singing

I studied sight-singing extensively as part of my core curriculum at Berklee College of Music, where I earned a Bachelor's degree in Electronic Production and Design. My training included solfège, rhythmic dictation, melodic reading, and interval recognition, all reinforced through live performance and one-on-one assessments. I have applied sight-singing skills in both classical and contemporary contexts, helping students develop pitch accuracy, timing, and confidence in reading music. My approach focuses on building strong internal hearing through repetition, clarity, and personalized exercises based on the student’s level.

Electronic music production and sound design

Jose is absolutely incredible! I needed help writing my trance track in Ableton, and in just two hours he helped me lay out the groove, bass, synth bass, and melodies even though I had no prior experience with the Ableton DAW. He’s extremely knowledgeable in electronic music production and sound design. Thank you, Jose!
