Hi I'm Sia! I graduated Summa Cum Laude from Bentley University with a Bachelor of Science in Data Analytics and Global Perspectives with a minor in Business Studies. For the entirety of my junior year, I studied abroad at the London School of Economics in the General Course. I am passionate about tutoring students and helping them discover their passion for mathematics, public speaking, and writing. My tutoring approach is based on ensuring kids are passionate about the subjects they are learning and that they can connect the ideas they are learning back to their real life. I am passionate about helping young minds unlock their potential, guiding them through challenges, and celebrating their successes along the way.
My strengths include leadership, public speaking, and organization. I have prior experience guiding and mentoring students in the business field through Junior Achievement. During this experience, I taught students about the business and finance principles necessary to build a successful business. I also gave them helpful guidance on how to craft their presentation on marketing, operations, and logistics so that they would be prepared to speak about their business from all angles. Additionally, I have tutored students for debate online during COVID-19. I created my own curriculum from scratch and taught students debate and public-speaking skills. Furthermore, I created interactive activities where students had the chance to practice their speaking skills with one another. I also assigned them homework tasks that they had to complete in between each coaching class.
I have succeeded in my mathematics classes throughout high school and college. I studied data analytics in college so most of my courses were math classes. I excelled in these classes and was able to help my peers understand difficult math concepts. I was a high performer in my high school math classes and would love the opportunity to tutor students in algebra, geometry, and statistics.
