Hi! My name is Kimberly and I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and am a certified teacher in Louisiana with a valid teaching certificate. I have been teaching for 16 years, primarily working with 1st grade students ages 6–7 covering all core subjects in a classroom setting.
I have been trained in the Science of Reading and use evidence-based practices to support literacy development, including phonemic awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension. My instructional approach is grounded in structured literacy, which helps ensure that all students—especially those with reading difficulties—receive systematic, explicit instruction.
In addition to my classroom teaching experience, I have provided one-on-one and small-group tutoring both in-person and online. My tutoring style is student-centered and responsive, incorporating formative assessments to identify learning gaps and tailoring instruction to meet each child’s needs.
Throughout my career, I’ve supported learners of diverse backgrounds and abilities, including those who need intervention or enrichment. This experience has prepared me to effectively tutor in areas such as reading, writing, and foundational math skills.
