In school, my best subject was always English. Since I was very young I have had a passion for reading, writing, and language. In school, my best subject was always English. Since I was very young I have had a passion for reading, writing, and language. For 10 years in school I was enrolled in a Spanish Immersion program, which made me familiar with the foreign language learning process. Since I graduated, I’ve learned American Sign Language and volunteer as a Bible teacher in the Deaf community 70 hours a month. I have been doing this for 5 years. Prior to helping in the deaf community, I did the same volunteer Bible education work in English for many years. I also love travel, culture, and learning new things!
While I did choose not to pursue higher education and a college degree, I do believe that I have gained a significant amount of experience in getting to know people of various backgrounds and cultures. Sign language taught me the value of TPR (total physical response) in the art of teaching. Also, my experience traveling and volunteering has taught me how to adapt and adjust to meet the needs of people. I would love the opportunity to help you in your English studies!
I have a TEFL 120 hour certificate.
I have done public speaking for my local congregation since the age of 6. They provided training by teaching skills such as modulation, enthusiasm, eye contact, the use of visual aids, etc.
I look forward to getting to know you and working together! Please contact me to schedule a lesson!
