IXL Certified -Tutoring Grades 3-6 Math, ELA, Social Studies, Science

I am a MSeD Certified Educator and experienced multi-subject tutor. My role as a tutor is defined as a "Facilitator" to clarify specific course content and guide students to become resourceful independent learners.

My academic background includes two Master of Science degrees in Elementary Education and in Instructional Design and Technology, respectively, and a BA in Cultural Studies. My professional background includes multi-state teacher certifications and various PD certifications including National Geographic Educator, Literacy, and more. Over 22 years of cumulative experience as a virtual home-school learning coach, a college peer tutor, a professional tutor for Pearson Virtual Schools K-12, a certified elementary teacher, a certified substitute teacher, and a free-lance online multi-subject tutor.

My philosophy, everyone has the potential to be successful, if given the opportunity. I strive to foster a positive, student-centered academic atmosphere that will inspire students to look forward to learning and engage with confidence towards successfully comprehending the content of each subject. I encourage exploration and discovery of content, while developing research and critical-thinking skills and integrating a comparative of past, present, and future academic applications attuned to real-world utilization. The ultimate goal is for a student to become an independent learner.

In summary, I strive to facilitate with creativity, skill, patience, fortitude, and empathy. I have independently guided multiple generations through academic advising, curriculum instruction, and tutoring in many subjects from elementary to post-college. I will professionally guide any student entrusted to my academic mentorship to achieve their educational objectives and matriculate with long-term success.
