Specifically, in customer and account service. While I found success in the marketing and communications field, I always had a passion and interest in teaching. This led me to pursue an Elementary Education Teaching Certification through iTeach Louisiana.
I was a substitute teacher for a year until I had my first child. Since having children, I have focused my attention to tutoring. Now with the current COVID-19 situation, I have decided to move to tutoring online. I have experience tutoring Elementary and Middle School grades while in high school, college and currently. I always admired the enthusiasm, creativity and patience my teachers had growing up. I strive to have a similar approach while tutoring and will go the extra mile to make this a wonderful experience for all!
I have tutoring experience in Biology and Science to 2nd - 4th graders. Science is one of my favorites to tutor because you can find examples and applications all around you! I worked directly with individual and a small groups of students on experiments and the scientific process.
I have also helped several students study for vocabulary and spelling tests after school. These sessions have proved beneficial to test prep, as well as, keeping up with reading knowledge and lessons in the classroom.
While the majority of experience tutoring is with Elementary Education, I have also helped middle schoolers who are falling behind with reading, spelling and handwriting.
