I am a certified elementary teacher with 7 years of classroom experience teaching both 3rd and 5th grade students. I have worked with a wide range of learners in reading, phonics, fluency, comprehension, and test preparation. I hold a bachelor’s degree along with a valid Louisiana teaching certificate, and I am passionate about helping students grow both academically and personally. Throughout my teaching career, I have worked with students in whole group, small group, and one on one settings, allowing me to tailor instruction to meet each child’s individual needs and learning style.

My tutoring approach focuses on building confidence while making learning engaging and supportive. I believe students learn best when they feel encouraged, comfortable asking questions, and celebrated for their progress. I use a variety of teaching strategies including hands-on activities, guided practice, reading fluency support, comprehension strategies, and skill-based intervention to help students strengthen areas where they may struggle. I also understand the importance of patience and positive reinforcement, especially for students who may feel frustrated or behind academically.

As a classroom teacher, I have experience helping elementary students prepare for standardized testing, improve reading fluency and comprehension, strengthen foundational reading skills, and develop independent learning habits. I enjoy creating meaningful learning experiences that help students become more confident and successful both inside and outside the classroom. My goal as a tutor is not only to help students improve academically, but also to help them believe in their abilities and enjoy learning along the way.
