I am currently a biology major at LSU on the pre-med track, with a strong academic background in biology, chemistry, and mathematics. My coursework includes college-level general chemistry, organic chemistry, physics, and advanced biology courses, which has given me a solid foundation for tutoring students in both high school and college-level science and math.
I have previous tutoring experience through working with peers and college level students through Baton Rouge Community College. In this role, I’ve helped students prepare for exams, strengthen their problem-solving skills, and develop confidence in tackling challenging concepts. My approach is patient, step-by-step, and adapted to the needs of each student. For example, I often break down complex ideas into manageable parts, use active recall techniques, and connect abstract material to real-world applications.
Most of my tutoring has been in a one-on-one setting, working with college peers (introductory biology, general chemistry, and math courses). I’ve also assisted classmates by leading informal study sessions, especially in organic chemistry, where explaining mechanisms and reaction pathways requires clarity and repetition.
My tutoring style emphasizes patience, clarity, and active engagement. I encourage students to ask questions, work through problems aloud, and practice with real examples. My goal is not just to help students improve their grades, but to build lasting understanding and problem-solving skills they can carry into future courses.
