Hi everyone, I’m Amin! I graduated from Tulane University with a Bachelor of Science in Neuroscience. My coursework included biology, biochemistry, and several neuroscience courses, giving me a strong foundation for helping students understand the life sciences. I also conducted neuroscience research at Tulane’s School of Medicine and coauthored a peer-reviewed publication.
I know that struggling in a new subject can be frustrating but I am here to make difficult topics more digestible in a comforting environment. I was once a student who struggled and learned techniques to learn effectively so I understand how it feels to not immediately grasp a concept. I am confident that with the right help and a bit of determination anyone can succeed.
I offer support in elementary reading, writing, math, and science, along with biology and introductory neuroscience for older students. I start by asking students to explain what they understand and where they feel stuck. From there, we can work through examples together before they try independently and explain their reasoning. I want students to understand why an answer makes sense and feel comfortable asking questions. Having worked through challenging science courses myself, I know that a different explanation and some patient practice can make a difficult topic feel much more approachable.
