Medical Student with Expertise in Science and Math!

Hello all! My name is Camille and I am a current Medical Student with extensive experience in high level science and mathematics. Through my undergraduate degree at the University of Notre Dame, I took rigorous courses in these subjects, and I am excited to help other students deepen their understanding of these challenging subjects. Through my journey to medical school, I have also gained extensive experience in standardized test prep, and I am happy to help students develop test taking skills and strategies in addition to covering content included in the SAT, ACT, MCAT, and USMLE STEP 1.

My previous tutoring experience includes four years of one on one tutoring in high school pre-calculus, high school English, middle school writing, elementary school math, and elementary school reading. Each session is tailored to an appropriate level for students based on their age and current understanding of the content. However, all sessions include a discussion with the student about their current ability level and goal setting for near and long term goals to encourage growth and confidence in students.

An example math tutoring session would include: goal setting, a review of recent class material, practice problems completed together, independent practice for the student, a teach-back discussion to review new understanding of material, and extension problems to apply the concepts learned to new scenarios.

An example English writing tutoring session would include: a discussion of the goals and topics the student wishes to write about, an evaluation of writing assignment criteria, and outline creation with the student. Next, I would encourage them to write the first few sentences of their first draft independently, and we would edit and review it for clarity and grammar together.
