Hi, my name is Sofia and I am a current Tulane University student triple majoring in Philosophy, Political Science - International Relations, and Latin American Studies. While balancing both socializing and a part-time job, I enjoy tutoring in my specialized subjects–History, Reading, and English–and I also can adapt to STEM needs depending on the level and subject.
In high school at Mount Carmel Academy, I scored a 30 on the ACT, with a 34 and 35 respectively in the Reading and English sections, and scored 4's and 5's in my History, English, and Humanities AP classes I participated in, gaining about 20 credits of college credit in high school. Additionally, I completed monthly peer tutoring for girls in my high school through National Honors Society in various subjects. In college, I have maintained a 3.6 GPA, and have taken on 18 credit hours consistently.
While most people I have tutored have been in the 13-17 year old range, I am very open to tutoring other age groups as well. I have a real passion for writing, and I have been told that I have a very good way of explaining writing, reading, and grammar to people struggling to understand those subject areas. Therefore, I would love to help your child with any of their needs to the best of my ability so that they can have the confidence in their academic work and navigate future academic ventures with ease.
