Lyn C.

Hello! My name is Lyn C., and I bring over 6 years of teaching experience in English and History, working with students from elementary through high school. I hold a degree in Mass Communications, which has given me a strong foundation in reading, writing, media literacy, and effective communication—skills I’m passionate about helping students develop.

Over the years, I’ve worked in both classroom settings and one-on-one tutoring environments, tailoring lessons to support a wide range of learners. I’ve guided students through everything from essay writing and literary analysis to historical research and test preparation. My methods focus on building confidence, breaking down complex material into understandable pieces, and fostering critical thinking. I strive to create a supportive, engaging environment where students feel encouraged to ask questions and grow at their own pace.

I’ve had the privilege of seeing my students succeed in many ways—whether it’s improving their grades, boosting their standardized test scores, or getting accepted into competitive colleges. Some of the students I’ve worked with have gone on to attend Tulane University, Grinnell College, St. Olaf College, the University of Louisiana-Monroe, and the University of Southern California (USC). It’s been incredibly rewarding to play a part in their academic journeys.

Outside of teaching, I enjoy coaching, reading books, and spending time with my kids—all of which continue to strengthen my patience, communication, and empathy, both in and out of the classroom.
