Hello! My name is Caleb Martin and I am a certified English teacher and have been teaching for 2 years. Ending with a 3.5 average GPA, I graduated from Nicholls State University with a Bachelors of Education with a concentration in English. During my time at Nicholls I tutored special needs students for 3 years at their program known as Bridge to Independence. I also was one of three student editors of one of Nicholls undergraduate magazines know as "Cheniere" where I worked for three years also. During my last year of college, I student-taught 12th grade ELA, both regular and honors, honing my skills as a teacher.
Since my time in college, I have taught for two years teaching ELA 10th to 12th grade ELA. Both years, and currently, teaching dual-enrollment classes through LSU. I specialize in writing and literature. I enjoy teaching writing as a skill and as an art. I begin with a formulaic approach to writing then once the student masters that approach, that's when the artistic style of writing comes in. I also specialize in teaching literature. Primarily focusing on reading comprehension, thematic understanding, and close-reading.
I take a creative and fun approach to teaching. I also take the same approach to tutoring. My students have shown significant growth year after year and I am excited to see you grow as well!
