Hello there. I graduated from The College of New Jersey in 2009 with $0 owed in student loans, so I suppose you could say I am an expert in financial responsibility, if not finance itself.
Unfortunately the degree I'd pursued for 4 years was on the subject of journalism and I received it right around the exact moment that seemingly each and every newspaper was either declaring bankruptcy or desperately seeking a buyer to avoid bankruptcy. I managed to snag a police/crime reporter position at the Bridgeton Evening News (then Cumberland County News, then South Jersey Times) in Bridgeton, NJ, which is a little over an hour from my hometown of Atlantic City, NJ.
The rest of my professional bio is not very relevant to this tutoring proposition. I have worked various service industry jobs, spent 11 summers on the Atlantic City Beach Patrol, and spent 5.5 years co-managing stores for a national lumberyard chain. I am a very active reader and feel that my writing has improved over time rather than withered through under-use after graduation.
I have never tutored before, but I am patient, understanding and open-minded, and like to ensure people fully understand whatever topic we are discussing and the underlying paradigm which causes it to be relevant.
I have read numerous books on military history, economic history, international history, history specific to particular races or cultures i.e. Middle-Eastern, black US soldiers in Vietnam, too many to categorize further. Have numerous 'snippets' I've simply picked up along the way. New Jersey and Louisiana history.
I am truly not familiar with any but the most well known artists, the general time periods in which they worked, and their most famous works.
