Hi, everyone! In 2013 I earned my Ph.D. in English. I graduated summa cum laude from Loyola and was a named scholar for two years at Middlebury, where I received my MA in English. I spent years as a high school teacher in New Orleans, and I taught literature and composition at the State University of New York. For over two years, I've been working as a private tutor, helping students increase their averages by two letter grades over the span of a single semester. I work with students from middle school through college.
I'm a personable, flexible, patient, and friendly Louisiana native who can help you or your child with writing, reading comprehension, grammar, vocabulary, study skills, and history. I can develop many different pedagogical plans that can suit many learners' styles, and I'll work to establish reasonable goals.

Daniel has been an exceptional tutor for both of our kids. Having 2 children of different ages, 10 & 13, and of both genders meant that we weren't sure if one tutor would be able to relate to both kids. In fact, Daniel has done a wonderful job of connecting with them in his patient and professional manner. They both like him very much and even look forward to the lessons.
We have already seen a marked improvement in their ELA scores and their teachers have even commented on their increased confidence. Our 13-year old son said he wished his recent English test was more difficult so he could show off all that he has learned. (These are the kind of disappointments we can handle).
Daniel has been my grandson's tutor for almost 4 years now. Daniel is the best, he is very knowledgeable in subjects that he tutors, always on time, very patient, goes out of his way to help. Daniel is the best tutor we have ever had.
He is extremely intelligent. I had four books my essay was over in a college level Mythology class, and he had read or was aware of every story. Highly recommend!
In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.
