I am currently pursuing my degree in biology, where I have developed a strong foundation in subjects such as general biology, genetics, chemistry, and mathematics. Through my coursework, I have gained a deep understanding of scientific concepts as well as strong analytical and problem-solving skills. My academic experience has required me to explain complex material clearly in lab settings and group study sessions, which has strengthened my ability to break down challenging topics into manageable steps. I am especially comfortable tutoring biology, algebra, and introductory chemistry because of my consistent academic performance and hands-on laboratory experience in these areas.
Over the past few years, I have supported classmates and younger students in both one-on-one and small group settings. I have helped high school and early college students improve their understanding of topics such as cellular respiration, genetics, chemical reactions, and foundational math concepts. My approach focuses on identifying where confusion begins, reinforcing core principles, and then guiding students through practice problems to build confidence and independence. Rather than simply giving answers, I emphasize active learning by asking guiding questions and encouraging students to explain concepts back to me.
I have experience working with students ranging from middle school through early college, primarily in one-on-one sessions and informal tutoring environments. I have been helping peers academically for several years, and I have learned that patience, adaptability, and clear communication are essential for student growth. My goal as a tutor is not only to improve grades but also to help students feel more confident and capable in subjects that may initially seem overwhelming.
