I am a certified elementary teacher with experience teaching reading and writing to students in grades 1–5. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and maintain active teaching certification. My professional background includes 17 years of classroom teaching and 8 years of special education teaching where I provided standards-based ELA instruction and supported students with a wide range of learning needs.

I have extensive experience teaching reading fluency, comprehension, vocabulary, grammar, and writing development. In the classroom, I regularly worked with students in one-on-one and small-group settings, allowing me to identify individual skill gaps and tailor instruction to help students make consistent progress. I have worked with students who struggled with reading confidence, decoding, comprehension, and written expression, as well as students who needed enrichment and skill refinement.

As a virtual-only tutor, I design structured and engaging online sessions that mirror the effectiveness of in-person instruction. I use screen sharing, shared documents, and interactive reading passages to guide students through reading and writing tasks in real time. Sessions typically include guided reading for fluency, targeted comprehension or vocabulary instruction, and writing support at the sentence or paragraph level. Instruction is adjusted based on the student’s age, ability, and learning style.

My tutoring approach is supportive, encouraging, and skill-focused. I prioritize building confidence while maintaining clear expectations and measurable goals. I also communicate clearly with parents and provide brief practice recommendations to reinforce skills between sessions. My goal is to help students become confident, capable readers and writers through consistent, high-quality virtual ELA instruction.
