My name is Sydney J.! I am an animal and science lover and have always enjoyed sharing my knowledge of biology and chemistry. As an undergraduate at SELU I spent a large portion of my free time working at a veterinary clinic, educating students about ecology, and researching snake vision at the SELU vertebrae museum. Once I graduated I spent a year working at an online company and tutored students in biology, chemistry, and physics. Now I work as a research assistant at St. Tammany Parish...

Tammany Parish Mosquito Abatement district and perform resistance testing, study mosquito ecology, identify mosquito species, assist in surveillance, perform field trials, and non-target trials. I really enjoy my job but often miss the days of spreading my knowledge, which is why I want to tutor you! Let me help you to understand the study of life!

I have experience in many different field, including veterinary medicine, research in colubrid snakes, septic treatment plant water chemical analysis, entomology, conservation biology, and ecology. I grew up with a scientist as a father so I have always had a passion for it and was taught at a young age to appreciate nature. This is why I love to spread my knowledge on this subject so that others may understand, appreciate, and become passionate about science.

I played tenor trombone in marching and concert band for four years during my high school career and I was low brass captain my senior year. I still play the trombone for fun and would love to help others learn this fun and jazzy instrument as well!

Please feel free to contact me! If you have any questions I would love to answer them!

Trombone

I was a trombone player all four years of high school and picked up the trombone fairy quickly as a freshman. Because of this I know what it takes to get started on trombone. During my senior year of high school I was elected low brass captain for my leadership skills and my ability to encourage my classmates in practicing and perfecting their technique.
