I hold a Juris Doctor from Mitchell Hamline School of Law in St. Paul, Minnesota, where I developed a specialization in First Amendment jurisprudence. My scholarly focus on constitutional law has continued well beyond graduation—I am currently revising my legislative history of the First Amendment in the carceral system for online publication, and I am preparing to teach at South University. This combination of formal legal education and ongoing scholarly engagement provides me with both the foundational knowledge and current expertise necessary to tutor effectively in constitutional law, legal research, and legal writing.
My tutoring experience began during law school and has continued throughout my legal career. I have worked exclusively with adult learners, helping them navigate complex legal concepts, develop analytical frameworks for constitutional questions, and strengthen their legal writing skills. My approach emphasizes breaking down dense material into accessible components while maintaining intellectual rigor. I focus on helping students understand not just what the law says, but the historical and policy contexts that shaped it—a method that has proven particularly effective for adult learners who benefit from seeing how legal principles connect to broader themes.
