About Trasima

I am a Louisiana Certified Teacher with a doctorate degree in education and certification skills to teach the following subjects: Online Learning, Elementary 1-8, Educational Technology, Middle School Science, Middle School Math, Middle School Social Studies, Family and Consumer Sciences; Business Education; Adult Education. I am currently in my seventeenth year of making a difference in the lives of others. I have had the honor of becoming one of Louisiana's Regional Teachers of the Year more than once. Many of the techniques I have come from great educators such as Marcia Tate, Marva Collins, Harry Wong, and Robert Marzano.

I am also familiar study skills needed to pass the following exams such as GRE, GED, ASVAB; TABE; Microsoft Office Specialist; IC3; CIW Business Associate; and NTE Praxis Exam. My adult students are very successful in learning new skills to pass or improve their scores in a certain content area.

Lastly, I find extreme joy in assisting others with learning structural or content editing for class papers, thesis, qualifying papers, or dissertations. Let me share my expertise with you. I am generally available Monday thru Friday (after 5) and weekends by appointment only.

Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

ACT Math

The ACT Math test includes basic math, algebra, geometry, word problems, graphing, and a little bit of trigonometry. There are only 4 trig questions on the ACT at present, but 14 geometry questions and 19 algebra questions. This is quite a bit to learn independently. There are many strategies, tips and tricks that are provided in this session that will aid a student in getting a high score on the ACT. Anyone preparing to take the ACT should obtain me as a tutor to help you develop a study plan that allows you or your child to work diligently for weeks prior to the actual test. Many students have an "Aha!" moment when simple explanations are given to them about algebra or geometry concepts.

It also covers the most important practice of how to set up a backup of your computer system and data.
