Approved subjects are in bold.

Approved subjects

In most cases, tutors gain approval in a subject by passing a proficiency exam. For some subject areas, like music and art, tutors submit written requests to demonstrate their proficiency to potential students. If a tutor is interested but not yet approved in a subject, the subject will appear in non-bold font. Tutors need to be approved in a subject prior to beginning lessons.

ACT Math

The ACT Math test includes basic math, algebra, geometry, word problems, graphing, and a little bit of trigonometry. There are only 4 trig questions on the ACT at present, but 14 geometry questions and 19 algebra questions. This is quite a bit to learn independently. There are many strategies, tips and tricks that are provided in this session that will aid a student in getting a high score on the ACT. Anyone preparing to take the ACT should obtain me as a tutor to help you develop a study plan that allows you or your child to work diligently for weeks prior to the actual test. Many students have an "Aha!" moment when simple explanations are given to them about algebra or geometry concepts.

It also covers the most important practice of how to set up a backup of your computer system and data.
