Hi everyone, I'm Baylee. I graduated magna cum laude from Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady University (formerly Our Lady of the Lake College) in Baton Rouge. I initially started my tutoring journey working in the writing center when I was chosen from my creative writing class. I worked in the writing center for the rest of my time in college, a total of three years. During this time I started my nursing program. After some changes were made to the program I was selected from my class to help tutor pathophysiology as the pass rates were not what the school wanted. I tutored both writing and pathophysiology during my last two and a half years of college. It turned out I had a strength in teaching others which is something I've used in the rest of my professional career.
I currently work in critical care doing a good mixture of bedside nursing, precepting and operating as a charge nurse. I have precepted many nurses including students, experienced nurses and new graduates to telemetry and ICU nursing. Precepting is one of my favorite positions as it allows me to use my tutoring skills time and time again. I stay up to date in my pathophysiology working in critical care and constantly teaching physiological concepts to nurses and applying them to new technology and medications.
