I am a certified Louisiana educator with nine years of classroom teaching experience across elementary, middle, and high school, along with three additional years of one-on-one tutoring and four years mentoring and training adults. I hold certifications in Elementary Education (grades 1–5, all subjects), Middle School Math (grades 6–8), High School Algebra I, and Mentor Teacher certification. Over the course of my career, I have taught 3rd, 6th, 7th, 8th, and 9th grade students, as well as adults preparing for certification exams. My current work includes serving as a mentor teacher and mathematics content leader while teaching Algebra I.
My specialty areas include Math, ELA, and test preparation, particularly for the ACT, LEAP, and PRAXIS exams. I take a structured, patient, and data-driven approach to tutoring, breaking skills down step by step so students clearly understand not just what to do, but why they are doing it. I use assessment data and student work to identify gaps, target misconceptions, and track progress over time. This approach has consistently led to measurable score increases and improved confidence for students who previously struggled.
In addition to working with students, I explicitly train and mentor adults, including new and resident teachers, which has strengthened my ability to explain concepts clearly, adjust instruction based on learner needs, and communicate expectations effectively. Whether I am working with a child who needs foundational support, a secondary student preparing for high-stakes testing, or an adult learner building professional skills, my goal is always the same: to provide clear instruction, steady support, and results-driven tutoring that helps learners succeed.

ADHD

I have extensive experience supporting students with ADHD in both classroom and one-on-one tutoring settings. As a certified K–12 teacher, I use structured, step-by-step instruction, clear expectations, and consistent routines to help students stay focused and engaged. I break tasks into manageable parts, use data to monitor progress, and adjust strategies to meet individual learning needs. Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)

Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)

I have extensive experience supporting students on the autism spectrum in both classroom and tutoring settings. As a certified K–12 teacher, I use structured routines, clear expectations, and step-by-step instruction to create a predictable and supportive learning environment. I adapt instruction based on individual needs, focusing on communication, organization, and academic skill development. My approach helps students build confidence, reduce frustration, and make steady academic progress.
Common Core

Common Core

I have over 10 years of experience teaching students and mentoring teachers using Common Core–aligned math standards across elementary, middle, and high school. I specialize in breaking down standards into clear learning targets, addressing common misconceptions, and building conceptual understanding—not just procedural fluency. As a Math Content Leader, I support both students and teachers in aligning instruction, assessments, and interventions to Common Core expectations. My approach is practical, data-driven, and focused on helping learners actually understand the math.
Elementary (K-6th)

Elementary (K-6th)

I am a certified K–6 teacher with extensive classroom and tutoring experience across elementary grade levels. I taught 3rd grade for five years and 6th grade for two years, developing strong foundations in reading, writing, math, and test readiness. In addition to classroom teaching, I served as a mentor teacher supporting 2nd–6th grade educators with instructional planning, data analysis, and effective classroom strategies. My experience allows me to deliver structured, step-by-step instruction that builds both academic skills and student confidence.
Essay Writing

Essay Writing

I support elementary, middle, and high school students in planning, drafting, and revising essays and written responses. With over a decade of classroom experience, I help students organize ideas, develop strong sentences and thesis statements, and write clearly for different purposes. I specialize in working with students who struggle to start writing, stay focused, or translate their thoughts into words. My approach is structured, supportive, and designed to build confidence and independence in writing.
Executive Functioning

Executive Functioning

I work with students to strengthen executive functioning skills such as organization, time management, planning, and task initiation. As an experienced teacher and mentor, I help students create realistic systems for managing assignments, breaking down long-term tasks, and following through consistently. I specialize in supporting students who are capable but overwhelmed, distracted, or stuck in cycles of procrastination. My approach is practical, structured, and focused on building independence rather than dependence on adults.
Fiction Writing

Fiction Writing

I help elementary, middle, and high school students develop fiction writing skills, including storytelling, character development, dialogue, and plot structure. With extensive classroom experience, I guide students in turning ideas into complete, engaging narratives while strengthening creativity and voice. I specialize in supporting students who have great ideas but struggle with organization, follow-through, or confidence in their writing. My approach balances structure with creativity so students can write stories they’re proud of.
Praxis

Praxis

I provide targeted Praxis preparation based on firsthand success across multiple exams. I have taken and scored well above average on the Praxis PLT and content knowledge tests for Elementary Education (all content areas), Middle School Mathematics, and Algebra I. I help candidates understand how questions are structured, avoid common traps, and align responses to what Praxis is actually assessing. My approach is strategic, efficient, and focused on test confidence—not memorization.
Special Needs

Special Needs

I am a current classroom teacher with experience in both self-contained special education classrooms and inclusion settings. I support students with diverse learning needs by adapting instruction, scaffolding content, and teaching academic and executive functioning skills. As an instructional leader, I balance high expectations with appropriate accommodations and data-informed supports. My focus is on helping students access grade-level content while building confidence, independence, and self-advocacy.
