For as long as I can remember I have had a passion for helping students find the joy and success in learning. That "ah ha" moment a student experiences is such a thrill to an Educator. I have had the privilege of making this happen for children as well as adults. I have experienced this in many capacities over the years, as a Tutor, Teacher, Reading Specialist, Supervisor, and on a larger scale, as a School Principal of a school for students with developmental disabilities and learning challenges. I enjoyed connecting with students with a variety of different struggles and decoding the learning challenges that previously have hindered these students from success. Utilizing a strength-based diagnostic-prescriptive approach, much like an "educational detective", has allowed me to "break the code" on a student's challenges and create a path forward, allowing a student to change from despair to triumph. This can change the entire trajectory of a student's life. My lifelong work as a Special Educator has allowed me the expertise to assist special needs students and their families find success.
