Art Educator with Degree

I'm a lifelong artist that chose to go to college to get a degree in education so I could go out and teach what I am most passionate about..........ART! I have a degree in Education with a major in Art Education and a minor in Psychology. I am nearly done with a terminal degree in Fine Art which will give me an MFA.

I have taught art in grades K-12 with the bulk of my time spent teaching 7-12 Art. Presently I teach art at a local High School. In the past I have given private art lessons but have not experienced that in Louisiana, as of yet. I moved here six months ago and purchased a home.

I work very well one-on-one, where I can give my full attention to one student. I am highly skilled in nearly all aspects and mediums of art. My favorite medium is pen and ink. I go about this the old fashioned way most of the time using a nib pen and potted ink. Another medium high on my list is oil paint. I love the smooth consistency and the forgiving qualities of oil paints. I have always had the confidence of knowing that I can teach anyone to be an artist; all they must have is the "want to" and "desire" to become an artist. I can give any student the skill sets that they will need to enter the world of art from basic to advanced.
