I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology with a concentration in Family and Child Studies and a minor in Psychology from McNeese State University. I earned my teaching certification in 2023 through iTeach Louisiana for grades 1–5, and I am currently completing a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership at LSU-Shreveport, with only four credit hours remaining. My academic and professional background is rooted in child development and instructional leadership, which gives me a strong foundation for meeting a wide range of student needs.
Since 2022, I’ve been teaching 5th grade science and social studies in a public school setting and have supported students in grades K through 8 through various programs. My experience includes enrichment for kindergarten, 5th, and 6th grades, grade recovery in ELA and math, and facilitating research and writing for 7th and 8th graders in a summer program. I also serve as a science club sponsor and grade-level chair, and I was honored as the 2022–2023 New Teacher of the Year. My observation scores have consistently been between 3.4 and 4.0, and my most recent evaluation rated me as Highly Effective with a 92% VAM and a 4 on SLT2.
As a tutor, I bring this same level of dedication and adaptability. I’ve worked one-on-one with students across grade levels to support foundational skills, academic recovery, and enrichment. My instructional approach is engaging and personalized, using data to guide instruction and build confidence. Whether working with early readers or middle school writers, I tailor lessons to the learner’s pace and goals, ensuring growth and success.
