Effective Tutor with all K-12 Math, English, + Test Prep

Hi, I'm Braeden! I graduated magna cum laude in May 2024 with a B.S. in Kinesiology, along with being a pre-medical student. This gave me a wide range of experience in various courses, especially in health and natural sciences. As I navigated undergrad, I had to learn the optimal method to be successful in difficult courses simultaneously. This came from having professors who invested time into me, learning from other students, and using 3rd-party resources to teach myself. It was during this time that I found I enjoyed helping others improve and succeed in their academic careers.

I have helped tutor several students at my university and joined an online volunteer tutoring program. I've helped students from elementary school to college-level improve their skills in Math, English, and Science. When I come across problems that are tricky, I enjoy putting in the effort to learn new subjects that I may have forgotten or never learned before, in order to better teach others. I especially enjoy helping with test prep, such as ACT or SAT, as I've always viewed it as a game, continually seeking to raise that score. Having had to study for standardized tests like the ACT and MCAT, I know the preparation it takes to be successful.

My style of teaching is to evaluate what each student knows and is strong at, then find ways to maximize those strengths by filling in gaps in their knowledge. I take my time to make sure students know the process behind solving problems so they can have repeat success, and not just how to "get the right answer." I believe every student is capable of success if they truly want to learn. I look forward to being able to help students accomplish their goals and improve academically.
