My journey began with personal challenges, having overcome a severe language disorder as a child, which ignited my desire to support and empower students facing their own obstacles. I have had the privilege of working with diverse populations, including those in regular education, special education, substance abuse clinics, and mental health settings. My approach to tutoring focuses on building genuine relationships that promote trust and open communication, allowing me to tailor lessons to meet each student's unique needs.
I am committed to empowering all learners by equipping them with essential skills for both academic success and effective community interaction. Through individualized instruction and a commitment to creating a supportive learning environment, I strive to help all students recognize and unlock their full potential.
My experience includes:
Child search coordinator - Assessment Teacher: Classroom observations and teacher consultations to develop child specific instructional plans and interventions as pre-cursors to other more restrictive educational services.
Educational Diagnostician - Pupil Appraisal: Academic testing and measurements, coordination and assessment of family and community support, compilation of social, psychological, psychiatric and related services assessments.
Counselor – School Counselor: Counseling students and / or families in coping skills, social skills and behavioral interventions. Researching community providers and resources.
Educational Consultant - Strategist: Coordination with treatment teams and other community providers to interface educational needs and plans. Student and family advocacy in obtaining the most appropriate classroom setting.
