Hi, I am Barbara! As a dedicated Chemistry Instructor with a PhD in Chemistry and over 10 years of experience, I have successfully taught and mentored hundreds of students ranging from elementary school to college levels. Having tutored since my undergraduate years, I specialize in breaking down complex topics into digestible, logical steps to build both your competence and confidence. My experience includes working as a university teacher, conducting large classes, small groups, and 1-on-1 sessions. To date, I have helped 100+ students improve their academic performance by staying up-to-date with the latest teaching methods and implementing an interactive, multifaceted approach; I complement the classic board and pen approach with interactive simulations, quizzes and games to boost my students’ engagement and confidence, as well as their GPA.

My experience with outstanding teachers and professors has shown me that educators play a vital role in inspiring students and helping them fulfil their true potential. As such, I am passionate in teaching and strive to inspire my own students through a personalized approach, mentorship, and positive feedback. At the same time, I encourage students to communicate their thought process, explain concepts and issues in their words, use analogies to describe complex topics and more; all of this is to ensure that the students keep an active role in their learning process.
