I have been a certified secondary English teacher for over twenty-five years. I absolutely love teaching all areas, realms, nooks, and crannies of English and English Language Arts! It is truly my passion, and that passion has grown exponentially over the last quarter of a century of teaching and tutoring all areas of English. I have been a certified secondary English teacher for over twenty-five years. I absolutely love teaching all areas, realms, nooks, and crannies of English and English Language Arts! It is truly my passion, and that passion has grown exponentially over the last quarter of a century of teaching and tutoring all areas of English. Because I love it so much, I am very able to pass that interest over to even those who struggle the most with English Language Arts, argumentative writing, literary analysis, and all other forms of academic writing.

My grade level experience covers grades six through twelve, with most of my years focused on grades ten through twelve. I have taught Advanced Placement English Literature and Composition for the past five years. I have also taught Dual Enrollment English 101 and 102 through Southeastern Louisiana University for the same number of years. Every year, I have taught both remedial classes and advanced classes of between twenty and thirty students, so I have experience with all learning levels and styles.

While I am very experienced in all areas of English literature, grammar, and writing instruction, my strongest area of tutoring expertise and experience is in ACT English test preparation and high school and college writing instruction. I am also very adept at teaching Common Core State Standards, with the majority of my students, many of them high risk, improving their individual scores on grade-level state tests by two mastery levels. I have been given the responsibility of conducting individual and small-group tutoring sessions every school year and throughout the summer.

I have conducted over fifty ACT English and Reading “boot camps” and tutoring sessions over the last decade, as well as Common Core State Standards testing boot camps in both Louisiana and Mississippi.
