Taught full course subjects previously in the public school system on the high school and middle school level for 2.5 years, subjects included: Pre-Algebra, Algebra I, Geometry, and Algebra II. I am currently certified to teach Grades 6-12 Math in Louisiana. Gained 5 years of tutoring experience throughout college and teaching. Earned a Bachelor of Science Mathematics degree involving advanced college-level math classes and also participated in the Pre-Service Teaching program at LSU Geaux Teach which included teaching experiences in the elementary, middle, high school, and college-level math classes.
I am of the belief that every student can be successful in math class and building confidence through practice and analysis of misconceptions and mistakes is the key to student growth. Students must not shy away from mistakes, but instead view them as a learning opportunity, an opportunity for academic growth. The time I spent in the classroom teaching my students holds some of my dearest memories. I loved the opportunity to collaborate with the students to explore mathematical concepts, as well as, building those meaningful relationships with the students to ensure they felt seen and heard. Experience in College-Level Math Research Project
Designed and completed an educational research project with Dr. Shipman at LSU looking at targeting misconceptions made by math students from various backgrounds (engineering majors, physics majors, math majors, general education majors) in Calculus III topics. This project aimed to address the misconceptions made by students and develop solutions to best assist and improve student outcomes with Calculus III concepts.
