About Isabella

Bio

I am currently a senior at LSU studying in music, business, and mass communication. I served as the musical theatre club’s president last year, and I am focusing on my own compositions in school this year.

I have been tutoring math, voice, piano, and music theory for the past 3 years from ages 7-60 as my main job outside of school. I am also conducting music research under Dr. Lori Bade and Professor Terry Patrick-Harris.

Although the arts are my main passion in life, I really enjoy helping students with math- especially algebra. I work well with kids and teens, and I love seeing them begin to understand a subject. I typically try to explain how concepts connect to previous concepts so that students fully understand them, rather than just following the steps. I help them step by step until they begin to master a concept. Then, I have them do a few problems on their own for me to check. It is so rewarding to me when my students’ grades go up.

Music can be different when it comes to tutoring or lessons, but I go at the student’s pace. I am conscience of each student’s goals and try to use what the student enjoys most to teach them the skills they need for their goals. I have worked with complete beginners and advanced musicians. For voice and piano, safety is key from the soft pallet in singing to hand position in piano. For music theory, I try to tie everything to a student’s preferred instrument.

I really enjoy sharing my passion for music and theatre with my students. I want to see them thrive, and of course, I love to see grades improve.

With my choral, musical theatre, and operatic experience, I am very experienced and qualified to help students with music. I even performed in a choir at Carnegie Hall.

Sight Singing

I have been studying vocal music since the age of 8, and I have been helping others improve their voice since I was about 13 years old. A senior at LSU in Vocal Music, I have been involved in the school's choir, opera program, and musical theatre club. I performed in, directed, or produced the majority of the musical theatre productions since I arrived here, and I served on the board as the secretary, vice-president, and president. I am also conducting music research under Dr. Lori Bade and Professor Terry Patrick-Harris, and I'd say my biggest musical honor was performing in a choir at Carnegie Hall my senior year of high school.
