Hello! My name is Michael, and I’ve been in EMS for 10 years now. I started out as an EMT in a large, high volume city. I attended paramedic school in 2017, and once I got about a years experience as a paramedic, I became a field FTO where I had a constant stream of students and clearing medics. In this time, I began my first part time job as an EMS Instructor, and acquired my AAS in Paramedicine. I am an Instructor in BLS CPR, ACLS, and PALS.

After 5 years on the truck, I had an opportunity to take a full time position as a Paramedic Instructor for a major EMS school, and at the age of 24 became the youngest instructor in the school. In my 5 years working as an instructor, I became known as the “NREMT guy,” the one people come to for a better understanding of how the exam works and, most importantly, how to pass it! Last year I moved back to the truck in a critical care setting and have since completed nursing school. I am now a ER nurse full time, however I still instruct paramedics and follow updates from the NREMT exam!
EMS is 100% my passion. I am involved in many local and state agencies, including as an NREMT Psychomotor Examiner. I am very straightforward in my approach to teaching, I will say things as I see them. I have taught in both in-person and online capacities, and to a wide variety of ages. To be entirely blunt, I failed my first attempt at my paramedic written in 2018. I empathize with how that feels, and do not wish for anyone to find themselves hopeless. I had someone who wouldn’t let me give up, and I am grateful to them daily. I aspire to be that hope to others, so they can see that fancy upgraded patch on their uniforms as well!
