For the last 4 years, I have helped 300+ medical school applicants improve their score on MCAT CARS, prepare their medical school applications, write memorable personal statements, craft amazing secondary essays, prepare for interviews, and maximize their chances of getting into the school of their dreams!

As an applications consultant, I love helping students prepare for any aspect of medical school admissions. This past medical school cycle, I have helped 50+ students gain admission to medical school. I have assisted with everything from creating an overall plan for their application cycle, crafting stand-out personal statement and secondary essays, and preparing for both traditional and MMI interviews. I am a naturally supportive person applying to residency in Psychiatry and love providing guidance during this stressful process.

As a CARS tutor, I personally scored a 130-132 on every AAMC practice test and the MCAT itself. I have my own curriculum and provide my students with personally created handouts as well as individualized feedback. I have helped students bring their scores from the low 120s to 127+. I have a unique way of teaching and breaking down CARS passages that has helped my students improve. I love working with students who are stuck at a certain score and can't seem to break through. I also love working with ESL students!

Doris's Services are Unmatched

Doris is truly doing God’s work. I worked closely with her for over a year, and together we went through the entire medical school application journey. From helping me boost my CARS score and achieve an MCAT score I am genuinely proud of, to guiding me through my personal statement, primary application, and coaching me on how to efficiently complete secondary applications, her support was constant and unmatched. Beyond her deep expertise in the admissions process and her sharp understanding of the details admissions committees pick up on, Doris goes far beyond what a tutor’s role typically entails. She is an incredibly supportive mentor. This process is not easy, and during moments of uncertainty, she consistently uplifted me and helped me regain clarity and confidence. Doris’s expertise in medical school admissions is not something that can be replicated. She has truly studied this process and understands how applications are interpreted by admissions committees. When I felt lost, her guidance grounded me and gave me direction. She also has an exceptional skill set when it comes to writing and helping students communicate their stories authentically and effectively. When the process felt overwhelming, Doris broke everything down into clear, actionable timelines and held me accountable every step of the way. Her interview preparation is just as comprehensive. I felt so prepared during my interviews that my medical school expressed strong interest in me by the end of the interview itself. There truly was not a question that could phase me. I am incredibly grateful to have worked with Doris, and today I can confidently say that I will be attending an American MD school of my dreams. Working with her was one of the best decisions I made in this entire journey.

Great Medical School Application Help

I worked with Doris throughout the entire application process, from brainstorming ideas for my personal statement, curating my school list, and preparing for interviews. The process was definitely not easy, but Doris provided me with countless invaluable insights and the clarity I needed, which eventually led to several acceptances! I never left a session without a clearly detailed plan or without all my questions answered. If I were ever overwhelmed, Doris never failed to provide the support and guidance I needed. Looking back on my experience, would I ever want to go through this application process again? Definitely no (I don't think anyone would). But if I had to, I would 100% do so again with Doris. Ultimately, I highly recommend Doris as both a mentor and tutor to help anyone along this laborious journey! She always has your back, and beyond everything, is a truly awesome person to work with!

Amazing Medical School Interview Prep and MCAT CARS tutor

I worked with Doris for MCAT CARS prep and later for my DO and MD interview preparation, and I cannot recommend her enough. For CARS, she helped me break down passages in a way that made them much more approachable. She taught me strategies to identify the author’s tone, structure, and main point, which not only improved my accuracy but also gave me the confidence to manage timing under pressure. When it came to interviews, she went above and beyond. She gave me tip with traditional and MMI styles, tailored practice interview questions to my application, and gave detailed feedback on my responses. She also helped me refine my delivery so I came across as authentic and confident rather than rehearsed. Her insights into both MD and DO schools were invaluable, and she gave me concrete advice on how to highlight my experiences while connecting them to each school’s mission. Overall, Doris is incredibly supportive, knowledgeable, and invested in her students’ success. Thanks to her, I have felt much more prepared and confident going into this application cycle.

Very thorough preparation

During our last MMI prep, Doris was incredibly thorough analyzing my strengths and weaknesses. She gave me ways to improve and general information to study and to wow the interviewers. Doris is incredible to work with and always has your best interest at heart.

MMI Interview

Doris was great. She provided a lot of content that I was unaware of and helped me improve through mock interviews. She also helped me provide my answers with structure which made them flow more cohesively. On top of that, she gave me valuable guidance for MMI preparation, offering strategies and practice scenarios that made me feel much more confident going into the interview process.

Amazing CARS tutor!

Would highly recommend Doris if you're struggling with CARS or if, like me, you're approaching your test date soon and just need someone to help refine your strategy. She did just that and recognized patterns in my mistakes, by question type on CARS. Very effective tutoring, wish I had worked with her earlier in my CARS journey!

Really insightful on application preparation and CARS tutoring

Doris has helped me really bring together my application as well as give me insight into the process that I would not have had otherwise. Also, my CARS score went from a 125 to a 131 on my most recent practice test, which I highly attribute to her meticulous teaching

Great CARS tutor!

Doris was an awesome CARS tutor. During our sessions, she provided a lot of resources and custom handouts as well as support during my dedicated MCAT study time. When I started my tutoring with Doris, my CARS score was stuck at 123. We worked together for 3 weeks and I was able to bring my score up to a 128. I would recommend her as a CARS tutor to anyone

Incredible Medical School MMI Tutor

Doris was an absolutely phenomenal tutor. I had really little ability to interview before she started tutoring me. She took the time out of 4th year of medical school to prepare me for a medical school interview over the course of over 2 months and was supportive throughout. She gave a very strong foundation for successful MMI interviewing and different types of questions until I started seeing patterns and many MMI questions almost felt mundane or "easy". She ended with her own full rigorous mock interviews. By the middle of my studies, I did mock interviews with my school and the feedback was pretty surface level and almost all positive with really no specifics on how to improve given how far I came. Doris continued to sharpen every aspect of my interviewing ability from the start. I am confident I can excel tomorrow. I really could not recommend her enough.

Doris P. - Medical School Application Consulting

I worked with Doris throughout my medical school application process from the start of my applications to the end of my interview season. When I began filling out my applications, Doris provided valuable insight and helped me craft my story. Her ability to identify and understand her students' uniqueness and strengths and give tailored feedback genuinely helped me improve the quality of my writing, and ultimately helped me more effectively convey my desire to pursue medicine on my application. While working with Doris to prepare for my interviews, Doris thoroughly helped me practice a variety of scenarios and questions that one might encounter in a medical school interview. We went over both traditional and MMI interviews, and our prep sessions gave me the confidence I needed when I began interviewing at schools. I found one of Doris' strengths to be her vast experiences working with a variety of students over the years get into medical school. Oftentimes, she drew from these experiences to provide her current students with ideas or examples to better help them understand and navigate the medical school application process. In addition, outside of our sessions, she was very proactive in checking in and providing resources that she thought would help better me as an applicant during the many stages of the process, from the primary and secondary applications, the interviews, to even sending update letters. Throughout my time working with Doris, she was very attentive to my questions, provided encouragement during the many weeks of waiting and silence, and overall, dedicated her time to help me succeed. As a result of my experience, I would highly recommend her to students who are beginning their medical school application process.
