Hi! My name is Amber. I live in the southeastern region of Louisiana, only an hour from The Big Easy—New Orleans. The 2024-2025 school year marks my 22nd in the field of education. I have taught a variety of subjects in grades 6-12, such as 8th grade English Language Arts, English I, II, III, & IV, Computer Literacy, Speech Communication, Spanish I & II, Business Communication, ACT/Workkeys Prep, numerous remedial courses, and many more.

Hi! My name is Amber. I live in the southeastern region of Louisiana, only an hour from The Big Easy—New Orleans. The 2024-2025 school year marks my 22nd in the field of education. I have taught a variety of subjects in grades 6-12, such as 8th grade English Language Arts, English I, II, III, & IV, Computer Literacy, Speech Communication, Spanish I & II, Business Communication, ACT/Workkeys Prep, numerous remedial courses, and many more.
While I live in a culturally rich area, my main interests lie with “All Things Education” from researching current treads in best practices to analyzing assessment data to make decisions for my regular day-to-day classroom lessons and students as well as of those I tutor.

I am a Louisiana-state certified educator and am currently in my 23rd year. I would consider myself an expert in the various reading comprehension/analytical skills associated with not only literary text, but also informational, dramatic and poetic texts. When the school districts were tasked with creating state standards based on common core standards, I was an active member in the development and implementation of our 8th and 9th grade ELA curriculums for the local school system. For 15 years, I taught 8th grade ELA and High School English I and II, which are 3 of the 4 grade levels that participate in high stakes testing. I readily prepared my students for success on these mandatory state assessments. Because of my background in developing our state's ELA state standards and skills, I have experience and knowledge with each grade level's expectations as well as the transitional skills necessary to master any "new" skill sets students are required to meet.
