Hi, I’m Shelby! I will be graduating summa cum laude this December with a dual certification in elementary education (grades k-5) and special education (grades k-12). I am experienced in designing and implementing math and reading interventions for students with disabilities, including dyslexia! My passion is helping students grow to love learning and giving them the skills to be in charge of their own education in the future.

I have 7 years’ experience in tutoring students of all ages and ability levels in math and language arts and over 500 clinical hours in public school classrooms. I use my experience and knowledge gained from these years to inform my current tutoring instruction. I use explicit, systematic instruction and personalize learning goals for each student to ensure that they make the most learning gains possible.

I use only research-based practices when teaching and welcome any additional resources from parents and students. I respond quickly to messages and am willing to answer any concerns or questions you may have, so please reach out!

I received a score of 34 on ACT Math section, have taken collegiate courses in how to teach math, will be state certified to teach Common Core from k-12, and am experienced in working with math students with disabilities.
